WHO FOR
The Level 2 Coaching Course is aimed at individuals who have completed the SAHA Level 2 Bridging Course and have been deemed competent enough to progress to the next level.
- Youth – First team coaches…u/13 – u/18 level
- Adults – Club Hockey - All levels
PREREQUISITE
Applicants must have a current SAHA Level 2 Bridging Course Accreditation.
WHAT
This course is designed in order for coaches to progress to a more advanced coaching level.
Topics covered:
- Formulate a personal philosophy of coaching hockey that reflects an understanding and respect for sport participation.
- Identify and implement effective coaching behaviours that impact on coaching at this level.
- Identify the sport science tools that are available to provide support at this level.
- Work with the evaluation tools and assessment criteria.
- Be a mentor and support to lower-level coaches.
DURATION
3 Days
ASSESSMENT
For each candidate, there will be on-going course assessment, evaluation of practical sessions and an individual theory presentation.
