WHO FOR
The Level 1 Coaching Course is aimed at anyone aged 18+ who is interested in progressing their coaching career to coach older age groups :
- Youth – Senior Phase age 12 to 13 & High School
- Adults – Club Hockey - All levels
PREREQUISITE
Applicants must have a current SAHA Level 0 Coaching qualification to qualify for this course.
WHAT
This course is designed to assist coaches in the advancement of player’s knowledge and ability in the 11 a side game. Topics covered :
- Introduction to the SAHA coaching framework
- Safeguarding of Players – Code of Ethics
- Understanding basic coaching concepts & principles :
- Effective Coaching
- Technical Aspects
- Tactical Aspects
- Physical conditioning
- Basic GK Skills
- Planning & implementing a progressive training session
DURATION
6 Hours
ASSESSMENT
Individuals will be assessed against Level 1 Accreditation criteria. Candidates assessed as competent will receive their Level 1 Coaching accreditation.
