WHO FOR
The Level 2 Bridging Course has been designed to assist Level 1 accredited coaches in gaining additional hockey knowledge as well as to assess their competency to participate in a SAHA Level 2 coaching course.
PREREQUISITE
Applicants must have a current SAHA Level 1 Coaching Accreditation.
This must have been obtained at least 12 months prior to the date of the bridging course, unless you have received a special recommendation from your Level 1 facilitator.
WHAT
This course is designed to bridge the gap between Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Accreditation - Topics covered :
- The SAHA coaching framework
- Understanding basic coaching concepts & Principles:
- Communication Skills and Learning Styles
- Tactical Aspects of Hockey
- Principles of Attack - Offensive Organization and Training
- Principles of Defense - Defensive Organization and Training & Advanced aspects of set pieces
- Observe & Analyse hockey activities
- Planning training sessions
DURATION
12 Hours (Consisting of 6 x 2hr Online sessions)
ASSESSMENT
During this course the individuals’ readiness to progress to the Level 2 Coaching Course will be assessed.
There will be weekly individual assessments.
Candidates assessed as competent will receive their Level 2 Bridging Course Accreditation as well as becoming eligible to apply for participation in a SAHA Level 2 Coaching Course.
